Business Spotlight: Fonda San Jose

Located on Market Street in Downtown Chattanooga, Fonda San Jose is a restaurant specializing in traditional Mexican cuisine and a customer-focused approach. 

This restaurant recently opened and is the perfect spot to grab dishes like birria tacos, quesadillas, and fajitas. The recipes Fonda San Jose use to make its dishes are taken from generations of Mexican cooks, passed down over the years.

"I chose to open Downtown because I want to be in the community," Fonda San Jose owner Bharat Chaudhari said. "Downtown is growing, and tourists are always in the area."

As someone who's been in the Downtown area for around 20 years, Bharat has seen first-hand the development surrounding Downtown.

The restaurant has plenty of TVs and a bar, making it a great place to watch a game or grab a few drinks with a friend. Fonda's drink menu features margarita flights, plenty of beer options, and a full bar.

Owner Bharat said that, in addition to their traditional Mexican food, the restaurant hopes to bring unique menu items such as a Mexican brunch, wing specials, and Mexican burgers.
