Business Spotlight: Top Notch Mobile Detail
Top Notch Mobile Detail, located Downtown outside of the Volunteer Building at 815 Lindsay St., offers a wide range of detailing services for cars as well as RVs, boats, 18-wheeler trucks, and small planes. Top Notch is also available to come to clients in the Chattanooga area.
In 2014, Top Notch’s owner Dammon Dunn started the business after a city coordinator saw something in him, believing he had what it took to be a business owner. The city coordinator helped him get started, and Top Notch began with just Damon and his pick-up truck, working every day to offer high-quality detail services to his clients.
After seven years of being exclusively mobile, the business started operating at its current location in the Volunteer Building, where it has been for about a year. While he was exclusively mobile, he noticed a lack of clean-up and detail shops in the Downtown area and was ready to offer a solution by starting a drop-off location.
“This location chose me,” Dammon said. “It was a blessing that just kind of fell in my lap.”
One day, Dammon worked on a client’s car just outside of the Volunteer Building and wondered if he could rent the space. Building owner Bob Corker saw him working that day, and the two connected, leading Dammon to rent the space that now serves as Top Notch’s location.
Top Notch covers anything that has to do with the detailing of a vehicle including basic exterior hand wash, paint restoration, ceramic coating, buffing out scratches and repairs, O-zone treatment that pulls toxins out of the car, carpet shampoo, engine cleans, and steam cleaning.
“I’m 46, and I’ve been doing this since I was 11 years old,” Dammon said. “This is not just a business for me; this is a ministry. I like for people to come in one way and leave another way.”
