Business Spotlight: Wooden City

Wooden City, a restaurant specializing in wood-fired pizza and other comforting American cuisine, opened in Downtown Chattanooga in September. Known for its great drinks, delicious menu options, and sincere hospitality, this spot is the perfect place for your next date night or evening out with friends.

“We set out to be a casual American restaurant that was fun, with delicious food and cocktails, and a very welcoming atmosphere,” Wooden City owner Jon Green said. “But we also bring a high standard to our food, service, bar, and hospitality programs that sometimes feels like it could be considered upscale.”

Wooden City has plenty of options whether you’re looking for a casual dinner or something upscale with multiple courses. The menu features items such as blistered Hungarian peppers, chicken wings, a Tavern Burger, house-made lamb bolognese, seared scallops, and wood-fired pizzas including bacon pesto, vegan, fresh mozzarella, and more. For dessert, you’ll find several dessert wines, an apple crisp, cheesecake, and other options.

The extensive drink menu features a long list of wines, classic cocktails including a Manhattan and a draft Old Fashioned, house specialties such as Spritz with Aperol, peach, cranberry, lemon, and bubbles, and a rotating draft beer selection.

Located in the heart of Downtown Chattanooga, Wooden City is centrally located near the Tennessee Aquarium, AT&T Field, the AMC movie theatre, and the Creative Discover Museum.

“We've always loved the feeling of being Downtown,” owner Jon said. “In any city, it tends to act as the anchor to the rest of the metropolitan area and always has a distinct energy that's exciting and culturally important, and then we found a beautiful building that we loved with a great landlord and a rich history. We knew it was meant to be.”

Wooden City is open from 4 to 9:30 p.m. every day. To learn more, visit their website or check them out on Instagram (@woodencitychattanooga) and Facebook.
