Meet Ambassador Gage

Q: Can you tell me about yourself?

A: I’m from Calhoun, Georgia, and I’ve been here a year and a half. I came to get a change of scenery because I’m from a small town. It seemed like a good job. We work with a lot of equipment, and with things breaking, it’s so important to repair things in-house.

Q: What is your favorite part about working as an Ambassador?

A: It gets you out of your comfort zone. I try to be very organized and neat, and in this job you can’t really plan for the next week or even the next day. You always have different things going on. It’s broken me out of the box and allowed me to meet people.

Q:  What do you want people visiting Downtown to know?

A: There’s more to do than just the main attractions like the aquarium and rock climbing. With us being down here, visitors would probably rather ask someone who looks official for advice on what they can do or where to go around Downtown. We have a firsthand experience of what we like to do and what may be less busy at a certain time. We probably know more than just a pedestrian walking around Downtown.

Q: What is one of your favorite Downtown attractions, views, businesses, etc.?

A: I like the West Village area. I used to think Downtown ended by the Discovery Museum, but if you go near the West Village there are a lot of nice places like Umbrella Alley, restaurants, and events going on in that area.
