Executive Directors Meeting

April 10, 2024 - 2:00pm

Location: 715 Market St, 2nd Floor Conference Room

1.     Call to Order

Todd Philips called the meeting to order. Executive Committee members attending were Adam Kinsey and Gordon Stalans. Also present was Steve Brookes, Executive Director of the DCA.

The minutes from the March 21st, 2024 Executive Committee were approved.

2.     RFP Responses

The DCA received three responses for the ambassador program. All three were extremely close in costs. Street Plus did not come do a site visit. Allied and Block by Block did do site visits.

Gordon would like for Block by Block to come give the Board a presentation since we have had the formal evaluation process done.

The executive committee makes the recommendations to proceed with Block by Block for the Ambassador program.

The executive committee makes the recommendation to proceed with Q Strategies for PR services.

Both contracts will be voted on at the next Board meeting.

3.     Activation

Steve updated the committee on the goals of activating Broad Street from Aquarium Way to 3rd Street with the focus of Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The committee felt it was a worthwhile effort to proceed with. Steve will continue talking to community partners on next steps.

4.     Board Meeting Agenda

The budget is ready to be approved and will be presented at the next Board meeting.

The formal evaluation that Jim Kennedy prepared will also be presented for a vote.

5.     Finance Committee Update

Gordon reviewed the financials. March collections should be large due to tax bills being due by end of February.

6.     Executive Director Update

Steve gave an update on his efforts, including an overview of an additional fee schedule that Nashville’s CBID has proceeded with to help raise funds.

Steve continues to work closely with the City on issues downtown.
