Executive Committee Meeting

August 9, 2023 - 2:02pm – 2:45pm

Location: Carnegie Library Building,

200 E 8th St, Chattanooga, TN

1.     Call to Order

Kelly Fitzgerald, Chair of the DCA, called the meeting to order. Executive Committee members attending were Adam Kinsey and Gordon Stalans. Also present was Steve Brookes, Executive Director of the DCA.

2.     DCA Renewal

Per City and State ordinances, the Downtown Chattanooga Alliance must perform a formal evaluation to continue its operation. This is required at five years of existence. Steve will check in with Progressive Urban Management Associates (PUMA), Block by Block and the Nashville BID for insights on the process.

3.     CARTA Breezeway

Due to lack of funding commitments, the DCA will not be able to continue managing the breezeway at the CARTA North Shuttle Garage after Labor Day. Discussions with CARTA, the City and other partners will continue.

4.     Financial Update

Gordon gave an update of current financial statement. There are about $42,000 in outstanding 2022 assessments. The DCA is in good financial standing and should have enough cash balance to last the rest of the year.

5.     Executive Director Update

Steve gave an update on the district. The DCA will be hosting an informal Happy Hour on September 20th from 4 – 6PM at the rooftop of the new Steam Logistics office.
