1. Call to Order

Steve Hunt, Chairman of the Chattanooga BID, called the meeting to order. Executive Committee members attending were Kelly Fitzgerald, Charles Perry, and Gordon Stalans (by Zoom).

Also present were Julia Bursch of River City Company (by Zoom) and  Steven Brookes, the new Executive Director of the Chattanooga BID (by telephone).

The minutes of the March Executive Committee meeting were approved.

2. Old Business

(a) Walking tours of downtown have been postponed until further notice. Results from the downtown survey have been compiled and will be shared later. 

(b) The agenda for the April BID Board meeting was discussed, including an update on the vendor selection and the need for Board to approve the committee’s recommendation of the vendor.


3. New Business

(a) G. Stalans for the Finance Committee reported that $540,000 of BID assessments had been received from the city through February 28th and that approximately $685,000 should be in the account by the end of April. Expenses through the first quarter are in the range of $30,000 to $35,000.

The Finance Committee will meet later to review requests for reduction/abatement of assessments by four non-profits.

(b) There was discussion of renaming the BID to the Downtown Chattanooga Alliance as well of the colors of the ambassadors’ uniforms. River City will investigate further.

(c) River City will temporarily provide a laptop to the Executive Director.
