1. Call to Order

Steve Hunt, Chairman of the DCA, called the meeting to order. Executive Committee members attending were Kelly Fitzgerald, Charles Perry and Gordon Stalans.

Also present was Steve Brookes, Executive Director of the DCA.

The Executive Committee minutes of May 12, 2021 were approved unanimously.

1. Old Business

(a) During a discussion of delinquent assessment issues, it was agreed that first phone calls should be made to the property owners who have not paid, next if necessary a series of letters –an informal one, a more formal one, one from Miller and Martin, and finally the placing of a lien. This strategy would first be applied to property owners who have not paid their 2019 assessments and then to property owners who have not paid their 2020 assessments.

It was pointed out that the DCA is following the legal guidelines for unpaid assessments and that the amounts due for 2019 ($36,395) and 2020 ($148,298) represent significant parts of our budget.

2. New Business

There was no new business.

3. Finance Committee Update

(a) As of May 31, approximately $630,000 was in the operating account (not including the $230,000 reserve accounts) and total equity was $842,000.

(b) In a discussion of the forecast of finances for the rest of 2021, it was suggested that the following should be considered as possible additional expense items: a landscape design plan, increased compensation for staff members, and the hiring of a part-time administrative assistant.

Executive Director Up-Date

(a) Steve Brookes presented his assessment of the Cash for Trash program-- what it has accomplished and what it has not. His recommendation was that the program should be continued on a part- time basis.

(b) There were brief discussions of equipment issues and wayfinding. The meeting adjourned at 3:48.
