Executive Committee Meeting

November 8, 2023 – 2:00pm

Location: 715 Market St, 2nd Floor Conference Room

Chattanooga, TN

1. Call to Order

Kelly Fitzgerald, Chair of the DCA, called the meeting to order. Executive Committee members attending were Gordon Stalans and Todd Philips. Also, present was Steve Brookes, Executive Director of the DCA

2. DCA Business

The Executive Committee discussed DCA Executive Committee leadership and the Board of Directors slate for 2024. Discussion centered around the Board of Directors who committed to a second 3-year term and potential new directors. It was stated that a resident would need to join the Board as well as a need to fill a vacant position.

Also discussed was DCA Executive Committee leadership: Chairman of the Board, Vice Chair, and Secretary positions for 2024.

Steve provided an update on the formal evaluation and the work Jim Kennedy has completed.

Kelly and Steve provided an update on the proposed Low Barrier Shelter and the meetings that have taken place.

Steve updated the committee with a Public Safety Update and the discussions that have transpired since the October meetings.

The Executive Committee decided to move the Board of Directors meeting to Wednesday, December 13th.

3. Finance Committee Update

Gordon Stalans, Treasurer of the DCA, provided a financial update to the Executive Committee.

4. Executive Director Update

Executive Director, Steve Brookes provided an update on the DCA and Ambassador program. Specifically, what was occurring for the remainder of the 2023.
